The Minors – Nahum (March 16, 2025)

Icebreaker

Have you ever caught someone cheating? What did you do?

Background

The Book of Nahum is a prophetic book in the Old Testament, written by the prophet Nahum, likely between 663–612 B.C. His message focuses on the destruction of Nineveh, the capital of Assyria, as an act of God’s divine judgment. This prophecy serves as a reminder that God is both just and merciful, bringing down the wicked while protecting those who trust in Him.

Discussion

A Distraction Issue (Read Luke 10:38-42) – How can busyness distract us from our relationship with God? What was Mary’s focus? How can we balance the things we need to do with sitting at the feet of Jesus?

A Discouragement Issue – What causes discouragement in our faith, and how can we overcome it?

A Discipleship Issue – Are we actively growing in our faith and leading others to Christ?

A Drifting Issue (Read Psalm 1:1) – How do we stay rooted in God’s truth and avoid spiritual drifting?

  2. In what ways do I need to take refuge in the Lord?
  3. How can I eliminate distractions in my own life and sit at the feet of Jesus?
