God is a God to be not only admired, but adored? What is the difference between those two verbs?

Transition: Today we continue our series today with “Strange God”, as we learn more about our life in Christ, so let’s Dig In !

Read 1 Peter 5:6-14

God is a loving and creative God – What two stories did Pastor Andy share to illustrate God’s perfect

He sees you, He knows you, He loves you!

How does that make you feel?

Truth: Sometimes though in our circumstances, our eyes and hearts fail us . . . We think God where are you?

Read Psalm 142:4

What did David think in his time of need, despair and self-focus?

How does God really care for you according to this verse?

Truth: The only thing more strange than a God who cares

is a God who cares about you !

BECAUSE THERE IS A GOD THAT CARES FOR US . . .

1. We Should Humble Ourselves before Him

Read v. 6

Why should we humble ourselves?

Read James 4:10 – What is the truth in this verse?

Read Luke 14:11 – What is the result of humility in this verse?

B. We Should Cast Our Cares upon Him

Read v. 7 – What do we find in this verse?

Psalm 55:22 – What is significant about this verse with our cares?

Summation: God is large enough to handle our cares, issues, challenges. However He responds to our humility towards and trust in Him. He is also responsive in our battle with the enemy. So . . .

C. We Should Fight the Enemy With Him

Who are we to resist?

What are we to stand firm in?

What experience do other fellow believers share around the world?

Why do you think Peter used the word “suffering” to describe our battle with the Devil?

God is a loving and caring God. He is also desires our personal relationship. With that understanding, we

  • Should Humble Ourselves Before Him
  • Should Cast our Cares Upon Him
  • Should Fight the Enemy with Him
