First Truth of today is . . .

A. Christmas is the Celebration that God is WITH us !

Read Galatians 4:3-7

In v. 3 what enslaved us?

What is the Christmas story in vv. 4-5?

According to v. 7 what is our position in Christ now?

Transition: Christians (those who have trusted Christ as Savior) are no longer slaves,

but now adopted sons, and heirs, children of our Heavenly “Abba” Father.

Second Truth of today is . . .

B. God came to be with us, so We can be WITH God !

Read Galatians 3:24

What part did the law play in God’s plan for redemption?

Read Psalm 16:11

What is a benefit of being in God’s presence?

Transition:

Nothing takes the place of being connected to God through Jesus Christ. Redemption

is a redemption to be in His presence, His blessing, and experience fullness of JOY.

Being with God is a daily blessing to enjoy.

BRINGING IT HOME:

A Few Points of Application to Consider:

  • This week remember that your redemption brings you into God’s presence.
  • We learned that being in His presence is “abundance of joy” !
  • Reflect on your present situation and assess if you are spending enough time with God daily to change your emotional perspective.
  • Where are you not experiencing JOY in your life? What’s the answer?

Transition: What was your one compelling take-a-way today?

Your homework assignment:

What is God’s spirit focusing on today, give time this week and address that growth edge.
